Getting to the Old Pueblo
PLANE:
Tucson is served by the Tucson International Airport and we have Southwest, United, Delta, Continental, US Airways, American, and Alaska. We are a hub airport so there are few non-stops. The airport is well laid out and easy to navigate and just went through an extensive remodel.
Many flights end their leg in Tucson in the evening so there are few late night flights into the city.
We are a tourist destination so flights are plentiful. Think more LA-like and less NYC-like. You can also fly via Phoenix through Sky Harbor but you will need to make your own shuttle arrangements.
CAR:
The I-10 goes right through the center of the city. It is actually where the freeway jogs from running due West towards California and turns North towards Phoenix. We are 5 hours from El Paso, 2 hours from Phoenix, 6 hours from San Diego and 7.5 hours from LA. Exit on Congress St and head east to Downtown Tucson.
TRAIN:
Amtrak does have a train that serves Tucson called the Sunset Limited that runs from LA. There is also the Crescent that runs from New York City. There is also service from Chicago. Prices and details can be found at amtrak.com. Amtrak Depot is located in the heart of the Entertainment District of Downtown Tucson.
BY CAMEL:
Do not assume dominion over the animal. Sit back and enjoy the ride . . . and bring your own bottled water.
